How does Happy Bear kill germs without alcohol?

At Happy Bear, every ingredient has a purpose — to keep little hands clean, safe, and happy. Instead of harsh alcohol, we use benzalkonium chloride (BZK), a gentle yet powerful antimicrobial that kills 99.999% of germs without drying or stinging skin. To keep our foam silky and pleasant to use, we include cetrimonium chloride, which helps the formula glide smoothly and stay gentle, while also cleansing away dirt and oils. And to make sure every pump stays fresh and effective, disodium EDTA helps preserve and stabilise the formula over time. Together, these carefully chosen ingredients create a hand sanitiser that’s effective, kind to skin, and perfect for everyday family use.

Is Happy Bear hand sanitiser pet friendly?

Yes. During Covid-19 we were overwhelmed with concerned customers running schools and child care centres who were having eye injuries in children from alcohol-based hand sanitisers as well as alarming numbers of skin irritations like dermatitis. We went straight into the lab and developed Happy Bear. We then had it dermatologically tested. We had nailed it! Happy Bear passed all the trials and tests with flying colours.

Is Happy Bear septic safe?

Yes. However, it is a hand sanitiser and does not require rinsing or washing so it generally would never enter into a septic system tank anyways.

Why is the regular use of hand sanitiser important?

Hand sanitising is a quick and easy way to keep your hands clean and hygienic. • Makes regular hand washing more effective.
• Reduces the need for hand washing when hands are visibly clean.
